[In the pic, "commonColors" used, and assigned background color, as dead code removed. Randy approves!]
Had a Redbull (to relieve a massive migraine half an hour ago), and I decided to get a few things done. A few new features added in, although they can be easily missed.
* Icons can now have Random Metro Colors, use Common Color from Icon, NoMetro backcolor, or InternalMetro (20 Metro colors). * Can assign a HTML color to the background color, OR use Common Color from Desktop Wallpaper. * Mouse Wheel scrolling over the folder list is in. * Hot Tracking for the Folder list is in (current item's back color changes to black with white text)
Also, removed some 200 lines of "dead code" ... more like Code i keep'd as a backup, REM'ed out, but the new code works fine, so no need for it.
Going to add in MouseWheelScroll to the Folder list next. Done.
"Colors" now has it's own sub-folder, incase you want to download other peoples color schemes and save them. Simple setting the folder name in the colors.txt file, in the Res folder sets it. Also, changes are pretty much instant. You can edit ANY of the text configs, and keep on using the app w/o restarting it, it should update itself after you click the start button again.
(I am kind of proud of that last feature...)
So Q: As how all of the configs are simple text files, do I need a special config editor? Or that is, Would you, as the user, find it nice to have and use? PeterRollar chimes in with "not really", as how it is all text files.
Anyway, working on the bug with folder permissions next. Tearing mstex a new one for the code that fixed this issue. I know it is in there some where. So give by Friday, look for a new download.
Thanks. I think that the system folders / error thing is all the same bug. Windows 200 and above stores the start menu in 2 folders. The User's folder (apps the user installs) and the windows AppDir folder. I think i am having it use the Windows AppDir first, and I should not do that. I need to work on item filtering to get it right.
Have it prefer to use User App folder before the Windows app folder.
Trivia note : windows 8 actually has THREE app dirs. The Desktop System apps, the User apps, and the Metro apps. All of those is a different folder. Odd, right?
